Old Canfordian lifts Glitterball to win Strictly 2016

Many congratulations from the entire Canford community to Old Canfordian Ore Oduba who danced his way to victory in last night's BBC Strictly Come Dancing final.   With perfect 10s from the judges and a repeat performance of his stunning jive, he was described by Head judge Len as 'the spirit of Strictly' and declared a very worthy winner in the 14th year of the competition.

Ore's performance was a real inspiration to aim for the stars and showed just how much you can achieve through dedication and a lot of hard work.   We hope to have the chance to see his dancing shoes back at Canford at some stage next year - well done Ore!

Headmaster Ben Vessey commented: “We have been following Ore’s progress week to week at the school and know from conversations with him that there has been an enormous amount of rehearsing and training involved in producing such excellence on the dance floor every Saturday night.   We are all hugely proud of what he has achieved and hope to welcome Ore back to Canford again next year to share his inspirational story.”
