National Libraries Day 'Speedy Reads' event

Canfordians celebrated National Libraries Day on Friday 5th February with a ‘Speedy Reads’ event in the library during morning break.    Pupils and staff were invited to recommend their favourite read in just one minute to the person standing opposite them.  Staff and students then had to rate how much they would like to read the books they had heard about.

Favourite books ranged from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Marquez and The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett.  It was fantastic to hear everyone’s enthusiasm for their favourite reads.  There were chocolate brownies for all taking part to maintain the creative energy levels!

Many thanks to everyone involved in this fun literary event.
